Gary Pitts has a diverse and extensive work experience in various organizations. Gary is currently serving as the Director of Operations, International Development at CABI. Gary previously worked as a Chief Operating Officer at All Hands and Hearts, where they oversaw a portfolio of early recovery and construction projects in post-disaster settings. Gary also served as the Chief Safety Officer, leading transformation projects to drive continual improvement in health, safety, and security processes. Prior to that, they held the position of Director of International Response at All Hands Volunteers, monitoring, assessing, and responding to humanitarian crises worldwide. Gary also worked as a Program Manager and Country Director in Nepal. Before their work in disaster response, Gary held leadership roles in the IT industry, including Head of Professional Services at IP Integration and Chief Technology Officer at Micropoint. Gary'sexpertise includes business strategy, project management, and solution architecture. Gary began their career as a Network Engineer at Ryde High School, where they maintained and administered computer networks.
Gary Pitts has a Diploma in Business Management from Thames Valley University. In 2018, they completed a Humanitarian Response Intensive Course at Harvard University. In 2019, they obtained a National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety from NEBOSH. Gary also has additional certifications, including Learning Design for Sustainability from LinkedIn, Scrum Master Certified (SMC) from The Knowledge Academy, Charity Trustees: your duty to safeguard and protect from NSPCC, Safeguarding Children: Level 3 award from Carrer match, and Technical Member (TechIOSH) from the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).
