Brian Scriber

Distinguished Technologist and VP of Secruity at CableLabs

Brian Scriber is a Distinguished Technologist and VP of Security at CableLabs. Brian has over 20 years of experience in the telecommunications and security industries. Prior to joining CableLabs, Brian was the Chair of the Security Working Group at the Open Connectivity Foundation, where they also served on the Technical Steering Committee, as the Chair of the Alignment Task Force (Certification, Open Source, and Specification), and contributor to the Core Technology WG and the Architecture TG.

Before their work at the Open Connectivity Foundation, Brian was the Vice President - Security and Privacy Technologies at CableLabs. In this role, they were responsible for developing and managing CableLabs' security program, which included developing industry-leading security technologies, evaluating new security products and services, and providing guidance on security strategy and best practices.

Previously, Brian served as Chief Scientist and Technology Consultant at Optimal Schedule. In this role, they provided consulting services to clients in the telecommunications and technology industries on a variety of topics, including network design and optimization, traffic engineering, and security.

Brian has a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder and a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. Brian is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and a member of the Board of Directors for the Broadband Internet Technical Advisory Group (BITAG).

Their manager is Mariam Sorond, SVP & Chief Research and Development Officer. They are on a team with David Debrecht - VP Wireless Technologies, Curtis Knittle - VP Wired Technologies, and Mark Walker - VP Technology Policy.
