Fernando Hung Low

Research Scientist

Fernando Hung Low is a Research Scientist at Cabot Microelectronics, with extensive experience in materials chemistry and organometallic chemistry. Prior to this role, Fernando served as a Materials Chemist at Texas Tech University, focusing on the synthesis and characterization of metal oxides and supramolecular aerogels, while also investigating their applications in catalytic and electrochemical processes. Fernando designed innovative preparative methods that optimize the production of high surface area porous materials. Additionally, as an Organometallic Chemist, Fernando developed novel substituted indene ligands and explored low valent Co(I) systems, significantly contributing to the understanding of catalytic transformations and publishing a total of 9 manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals. Fernando holds a Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from Baylor University and a B.S. in Chemistry from Universidad Central de Venezuela.
