Cafe Mono Congo has been a bit of a social hub since it opened in 2014.  We are an open-air cafe/bakery located on the Baru river right on the beach (Playa Dominical) open from 7:30 - 5:00 every day.

Mono Congo is a friendly, community-focused space that serves strong coffee, a little beer & wine and a house-made, healthy menu. We have something for all tastes, with plenty of gluten free and vegan options. Our new lunch menu has been winning friends with the salad and veggie burger options. We bake all our own sourdough & desserts. As the times called for it, we recently created our at-home line with www.monocongomeals.com in 2020.

Mono Congo has been run by an amazing team of local Costa Ricans (Ticos) & husband and wife owner/operators Shelby Tett (Menu, Operations, Maintenance) & Joanne Brookes (Marketing, Finance, HR), originally from Nelson, BC Canada.
