John Hughes

John Hughes has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple industries.

John began their career in 1988 serving in the US Navy as a Machinist Mate Petty Officer First Class, where they worked as a nuclear power plant mechanic on two Los Angeles class fast attack submarines. John served in this role until August 1997.

After their military service, they joined Photocircuits Corporation as an HVAC Technician, responsible for systems maintenance in an industrial plant. John also gained experience working on production line equipment and stayed with the company from November 1998 to April 2001.

Following this, they worked at Hines Interests as a Lead Engineer, where they specialized in facilities maintenance at three class "A" office buildings. John was involved in commissioning new buildings and refurbishing acquired properties. John had expertise in building controls and fire life safety systems. John held this position from April 2001 to April 2006.

Next, they joined Stafford Properties, Inc as a Facilities Manager. In this role, they served as the Maintenance Manager, Construction Manager, and Tenant Services Coordinator for Two Buckhead Plaza in Atlanta, Georgia. Their responsibilities included overseeing the office component as well as three high-end restaurants and retail spaces. John managed contractor and vendor relationships and served as the primary point of contact for government inspectors, neighbors, visitors, and tenants. John held this position from April 2006 to October 2015.

Currently, they are employed at CAI as the Associate Director, Asset Management and Reliability. John joined the company in October 2015 and is responsible for overseeing asset management and reliability. Recently, they have been appointed as the Global Director of Asset Management and continues to work for the company.

John Hughes attended Naval Nuclear Power School from 1989 to 1990, where they studied Physics and Engineering. Prior to that, they attended Billings West High School from 1984 to 1987. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the Certified Asset Management Assessor certification from World Partners in Asset Management LLC in March 2017, and the Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional certification from the Society of Maintenance & Reliability Professionals in January 2016.
