Discover Cairns Rainforest Estate – An Exclusive Tropical Rainforest Experience
Local family owned and operated, Cairns Rainforest Estate encompasses 160 acres of extraordinary natural beauty. This remarkable property combines ancient World Heritage rainforest, an extensive tropical fruit orchard, and a fascinating heritage linked to the historic Barron Falls Hydroelectric Power Station of the 1930s.
Designed for discerning travellers seeking a more personal experience, our collection of half-day adventures is limited to small groups of no more than 20 guests. Every itinerary is thoughtfully tailored, ensuring an intimate, flexible, and highly personalised experience.
Guests enjoy privileged access to spectacular rainforest environments, inaccessible to the public. Accompanied by knowledgeable local guides, you'll explore hidden walking trails, discover fascinating rainforest ecology, and savour seasonal tastings from an exceptional orchard featuring more than 400 rare and exotic tropical fruit trees from around the world.
Perfectly positioned beneath the Barron Falls Skyrail terminal, Cairns Rainforest Estate offers seamless connections with some of the region’s most iconic attractions. Guests can arrive and depart via a combination of custom 4WD transport, the historic Scenic Railway, or the world-renowned Skyrail Rainforest Cableway, with opportunities to enjoy free time in the charming rainforest village of Kuranda and convenient pre- and post-tour connections.
The estate also serves as an important wildlife sanctuary and ecological corridor for the endangered Southern Cassowary. Sightings of these magnificent creatures are a genuine possibility throughout the year.
To complete your experience, send a postcard to family and friends from the region’s oldest—and arguably smallest—operating post office, a delightful reminder of a bygone era and a fitting conclusion to an unforgettable rainforest adventure.
