Anne Jansen is an Associate Professor of English at the University of North Carolina at Asheville, where Anne also directs the US Ethnic Studies program and serves as a Faculty Fellow at the Center for Teaching and Learning. Additionally, Jansen is a contributing writer for Book Riot, an Editorial Board Member of SAIL: Studies In American Indian Literatures, and was previously an Editorial Assistant for the same journal. Jansen's academic background includes a PhD in English from The Ohio State University, where the dissertation focused on activism and form in post-Cold War magical realist novels by American authors of color. Prior teaching experience includes roles at various high schools, with leadership as Department Chair at Esparto High School. Jansen's educational journey includes degrees from multiple institutions, culminating in a BA in English from UC Santa Barbara.
