Josh Machamer

Josh Machamer is the Assistant Vice President of Strategic Initiatives and Advocacy at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, where they provide high-level guidance on university-wide initiatives and oversee the execution of critical projects. With over 25 years of experience in higher education, Josh has previously held roles as Associate Dean for Operations and Chair of the Theatre and Dance Department at Cal Poly. They hold an MFA in Directing from Penn State University and a BA in Theatre and English from Whittier College. Additionally, Josh has an extensive background in academia and the entertainment industry, with directing credits across the U.S. and internationally. Josh is also an advocate for global learning and has chaired Cal Poly’s International Programs Committee.
