Dave Patton

Dave Patton is a seasoned Senior Principal Hardware Engineer at CalAmp, with over 14 years of experience in designing vehicle locating and tracking products, as well as high-end wireless routers utilizing GPS, Cellular, and WiFi technologies. Responsibilities include product design, validation, and post-production support, specifically for standard automotive products and low-power, long-life battery designs. Prior to CalAmp, Dave Patton served as a Staff Applications Engineer at Staccato Communications, focusing on Certifed Wireless USB (UWB) products, and spent 27 years at Hewlett-Packard in various engineering roles, contributing to the integration of network connectivity in HP's inkjet printer line and serving as an electronics system architect since the inception of inkjet technology. Dave Patton holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University, earned between 1973 and 1978.
