John Benstead

John Benstead is currently the Global Compliance Counsel at Calderys, a position they have held since 2023. Previously, they served as the Director of Corporate Governance at Air Liquide from 2015 to 2023 and were a Partner at McGrigors from 2009 to 2011. John also spent several years at the Serious Fraud Office (UK) as a Case Controller/Assistant Director from 2001 to 2008. They began their legal career at Clifford Chance, where they held roles as a Trainee Solicitor and later as an Assistant Solicitor from 1990 to 1995. John earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Modern Language Studies from The Open University and an LLB in Law from The University of Hull.
