Emily Stoops is a Principal Scientist at Calico Life Sciences since July 2018, where responsibilities include establishing high-throughput imaging pipelines, optimizing NGS protocols for yeast, and designing assays for yeast colony growth. Previously, as a Postdoctoral Researcher at UC Berkeley from 2014 to 2018, Emily conducted research on actin-driven vesicle release and protein recruitment in endocytosis. Emily's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Cell Biology from Yale University, where research focused on protein trafficking and visualization techniques. Additional experience includes a stint as a Research Fellow at Heidelberg University Biochemistry Center and a Graduate Student Researcher at Yale University, contributing to advancements in cellular biology and protein delivery mechanisms.
