John Yong

John Yong is a Senior Scientist at Calico Life Sciences, a position held since February 2016, where responsibilities have included advancing research as a Scientist and Senior Research Associate. Prior experience includes a Ph.D. candidacy at the California Institute of Technology from September 2007 to May 2015, during which John Yong discovered novel chromatin regulation methods at the single-cell level and developed techniques to manipulate gene expression. Additionally, John created a streamlined workflow for data processing and visualization in Matlab and devised algorithms for analyzing gene expression dynamics. John Yong holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, obtained in 2007, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Biology from the California Institute of Technology, completed in 2015.
