Gian Franco Sacco

Gian Franco (Giangi) Sacco is an experienced project manager currently at Caltech since June 2024. Prior to this role, Gian Franco served as the Chief Technology Officer at Praesidium from October 2016 to June 2024, where leadership was provided to a team focused on advancing contact-less vital signs detection technology. Earlier, Gian Franco worked as a Data Scientist at Jet Propulsion Laboratory from December 2004 to November 2021, specializing in numerical algorithms, genetic algorithms, and machine learning applications. Additionally, Gian Franco held a Data Scientist position as an NRC and NASA Postdoctoral fellow, conducting research in solid-state physics with a focus on numerical simulations. Academic qualifications include a PhD and MS in High Energy Theoretical Physics from the University of Connecticut, complemented by a BS in Theoretical Nuclear Physics from Università degli Studi di Torino.
