Derek Braid is an accomplished engineering leader with extensive experience in developing advanced telecommunications solutions. Currently serving as the Engineering Development Director at Viavi Solutions since June 2013, Derek focuses on Ethernet, Mobility, and Video Test Solutions. Prior to this, Derek held pivotal roles at Calix as Director of Product Development for EXA, and at RadarFind as VP of Engineering, overseeing the development of a cutting-edge Real Time Location System. Derek's expertise also includes significant contributions at Alcatel-Lucent and ADC Telecommunications, where strategic initiatives led to substantial cost reductions and revenue growth. With a robust educational foundation in Electronic Engineering from Aston University and the University of Strathclyde, Derek has demonstrated leadership and innovation throughout a distinguished career spanning over three decades in the telecommunications industry.
