Blake Rutherford

Blake Rutherford has extensive experience in the field of data science and atmospheric dynamics research. Currently, they are working as a Sr. Data Scientist at Calligo since February 2021. Prior to this, they held the position of Senior Data Scientist at Decisive Data from October 2018.

Before transitioning to data science, Blake worked as a Research Scientist at NorthWest Research Associates from September 2014 to February 2021. During this time, they focused on studying applied mathematics and atmospheric dynamics, particularly with regards to tropical cyclone structure and dynamics. Blake received grants from prestigious organizations such as the National Science Foundation (NSF), Office of Naval Research (ONR), and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to fund their research.

In 2014, Blake briefly worked as an NCAR Visiting Scientist at the National Center for Atmospheric Research. Prior to that, they were a National Research Council Postdoctoral Fellow at the National Academy of Sciences from June 2010 to August 2014.

Blake Rutherford obtained a Master's degree in Mathematics from Baylor University from 2001 to 2003. Following this, they pursued further education and earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mathematics from Colorado State University between the years 2005 and 2010.
