Eugene Lao

Eugene Lao is an accomplished legal executive with extensive experience across various sectors. Currently serving as Chief Legal Officer at Calm since August 2024, Lao has held prominent roles including Co-Founder & Operating Partner at Red Dog Capital since 2012, and Chief Legal Officer at Tau Motors from October 2023 to August 2024. Previously, Lao served in executive legal capacities at Prime Core Technologies, Inc., Reltio, and DocuSign, among others, where responsibilities included advising on international operations, transactions, corporate initiatives, and regulatory compliance. Lao's career also features leadership at Zynga, Auction.com, and Yahoo! Inc., where significant contributions were made in supporting global legal operations and strategic market expansions. An alumnus of Duke University School of Law with a JD and LLM, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BA in Psychology, International Studies, and Asian Studies, Lao combines legal expertise with a strong international perspective.
