Dave Lesher

Dave Lesher has extensive experience in the journalism and media industry. Dave began their career in 1981 as a Reporter at The Hartford Courant. Dave then moved to the Los Angeles Herald Examiner in 1985 as a Politics Reporter. In 1987, they joined the Los Angeles Times as a Writer/Editor. In 2001, they were appointed as Editor in Chief of the California Journal Magazine. In 2004, they became the Director of the California Program at the New America Foundation. In 2007, they were hired as the Director of Government Affairs at the Public Policy Institute of California. Finally, in 2015, they were appointed as Editor In Chief and CEO at CalMatters.

Dave Lesher attended California State University, Long Beach from 1976 to 1981, where they studied Journalism.
