Luis Barrera

Luis Barrera has over 20 years of experience in the energy sector, currently serving as the Director of Outage Services for the GE Fleet at Calpine since July 2007. Barrera's expertise includes providing technical recommendations for a variety of GE gas turbine models and innovating solutions to enhance unit efficiency and lifespan. Prior to this role, Barrera held positions as a Senior Turbine Engineer and Project Service Manager, managing complex maintenance outages and leading teams of over 50 employees. Barrera also contributed as Chairman and Co-Chairman of the 7F USERS GROUP INC, overseeing the organization's conference and policy development. Previous experience includes serving as a Field Engineer and Project Manager at GE Energy, where Barrera specialized in managing gas and steam turbine maintenance projects globally. Barrera holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology from Texas A&M University-Kingsville and has completed additional training at the GE Learning Center.
