Bill Schaffer

Bill Schaffer is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in electrical and mechanical systems. Currently serving as Sr. Manager of Electro-Mechanical Systems at Calspan since April 2024, Bill leads a team focused on the design and implementation of engine test components and aerospace ground test facilities. Prior to this role, Bill worked at Aero Systems Engineering from February 2016 to July 2024, where responsibilities included team leadership and project engineering for electrical control systems in jet engine test cells and wind tunnels. Bill also spent a decade at Westinghouse Electric Company as Principal Project Engineer, specializing in electrical design for nuclear power plant fuel handling systems and large-capacity overhead cranes. Bill holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Minnesota, obtained between 2000 and 2005.
