Owen joined CALSTART in August 2020 as an associate project manager. He currently works on the Global Commercial Drive to Zero program focusing on the development of various tools available to program partners and facilitating efficient dissemination of industry best practices in the medium and heavy-duty sector. With previous experience working on the New York Truck Voucher Incentive Program and Charge to Work NY Initiative he aims to accelerate medium and heavy-duty markets globally to achieve cleaner air for all.
Prior to joining CALSTART, Owen worked for the U.S. Forestry Service as a Research Analyst. In this position he focused on Urban Heat Island effect modeling in major US cities. The work contributed to more accurate modeling of the iTree Cool Air model which serves to predict how the built environment effects air temperature in cities. Owen is a recent graduate of Cornell University’s Environment and Sustainability program and has experience in urban solar and infrastructure development.
