Geraldine Jimenez

Geraldine Jimenez has an extensive work experience in the investment field. Geraldine started their career as an Analyst at Member Services in 1989 and later became an Investment Officer at the Investment Office in 1998. Geraldine then moved to CalPERS in 2006, where they held the role of Portfolio Manager for various funds and was responsible for overseeing a large portfolio, selecting investment strategies, and managing relationships with external managers. In 2015, Geraldine joined CalSTRS as a Portfolio Manager, where they served as the central point person for all external investment matters. Geraldine later took on the role of Director of Investment Strategy & Risk, overseeing the strategic positioning of the investment portfolio. Currently, they work as a Senior Investment Director, Public Markets, providing leadership in managing internal and external portfolios and making strategic investment decisions that significantly impact the retirement fund.

Geraldine Jimenez obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S) degree in Business Administration with a focus on Finance from California State University from 1985 to 1989. Geraldine also earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Finance, General from California State University-Sacramento during the same time period. In terms of additional certifications, Geraldine obtained an ILPA Private Equity Investment Certificate from the Institutional Limited Partners Association (ILPA) in 2017 and became a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) in 2003.
