Michael Weston has extensive experience in public engagement and communication, currently serving as the Public Engagement Manager at CalSTRS since May 2019. Prior to this role, Michael held the position of Deputy Director of Public Affairs and Outreach Programs at the California Department of Social Services from May 2006 to May 2019. Michael began a career in media as a Television News Producer for KCRA 3, KSEE24, and KMIR6, where employment lasted from February 1996 to March 2006. Michael earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and Media Studies from California State University, Fullerton, between 1988 and 1994.
