Owen Thompson

They are the CEO and Co-Founder of Cambridge Future Tech, a technology-first venture builder that partners with top UK universities to spin out deep technologies into commercial ventures with global impact. They previously served as a fighter pilot in the Royal Air Force for over a decade and then as General Manager for Advanced Technologies at BAE Systems, where they ran multiple R&D sites with focus areas including microwave materials, MEMS, printed electronics, and additive manufacturing. They have held roles at Cambridge Judge Business School as Supervisor - Enterprise Tech (2019–2023) and Sponsor - Enterprise Tech (2023–Present), and have served as Director at DoubleGood (2018–Present). In the past year, they shaped multiple start-up funding rounds, including taking fifteen portfolio companies through their funding rounds and supporting multiple external fundraising engagements. Under their leadership, Cambridge Future Tech's portfolio continues to grow at pace, having created over 150 highly skilled jobs and raising over $20m in external funding.
