Aníbal Mora has a diverse range of experience in the field of bioprocess engineering and scientific research. Aníbal began their career at the National Center of Biotechnological Innovations (CENIBiot-CENAT) in 2018, where they served as the Bioprocess Group Leader. In this role, they provided scientific direction and strategic planning for the Bioprocess Unit and led a team focused on purpose and continuous development. Aníbal was responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating applied research projects.
In 2018, Mora also started working as a Scientific Researcher at the Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica. In this position, they contributed to applied research focused on agroindustrial waste valorization, specifically in the areas of biorefinery and circular economy. Aníbal'swork involved the development of bio-industrial processes from design to proof-of-concept.
Most recently, Aníbal Mora joined Cambrium in 2021 as a Senior Bioprocess Engineer. At Cambrium, they are involved in the development of novel structural proteins and the integration of innovation into everyday products. Aníbal'sresponsibilities include designing, implementing, and validating upstream and downstream processes to transform projects in the proof-of-concept stage into marketable products.
Overall, Aníbal Mora's work experience showcases their expertise in bioprocess engineering, scientific research, and their ability to lead and contribute to applied research projects in the field.
Aníbal Mora completed their education in a chronological order. Aníbal started their academic journey in 2000 at the Universidad de Costa Rica UCR, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Biology. After successfully completing the program in 2003, they continued their studies at the same institution and obtained a Master's degree in Molecular Biology between 2004 and 2006. Aníbal subsequently pursued their academic interests at the Hamburg University of Technology from 2013 to 2018, where they earned a Doctorate of Natural Sciences (Dr. rer. nat) in Bioprocess and Biosystems Engineering.
