Sameer Walavalkar

Chief Engineer at Camena Bioscience

Sameer Walavalkar has a strong background in engineering and research. Sameer started their career as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Caltech in 2011, where they focused on nanofabrication techniques and the creation of electronic devices and sensing schemes using low-dimensional silicon nanostructures. In 2013, they joined the University of Southern California as a Postdoctoral Fellow, where they explored the electric field enhancement of nano-engineered structures for molecular sensing and studied light-metal-molecule interactions in nanoscale gaps. In 2016, they held the role of Chief Engineer at both DNAwrite and Camena Bioscience. Overall, Sameer has extensive experience in nanofabrication, electronic device development, and molecular sensing.

Sameer Walavalkar completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Michigan College of Engineering from 2001 to 2004. Sameer then pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Applied Physics at Caltech from 2004 to 2006. Sameer further continued their education at Caltech and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Applied Physics from 2006 to 2011.
