CAMERA is the leading advocate for MRI in Africa and a global network of MRI experts created in October 2019 as a working group of the European Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine and Biology (ESMRMB) to increase the use of MRI in healthcare in Africa, particularly in Sub-Sharan Africa, a region of the world with the lowest access to MRI.

This interdisciplinary network of MRI radiologists, physicists, imaging scientists, engineers, and technologists/radiographers from Africa and partners around the world is committed to increasing MRI access in Africa, through training of highly qualified MRI experts in Africa and establishment of a deeply connected MRI research and clinical community in Africa.
