Camphor Press is a small publishing house focused on Taiwan and the wider East Asia region. We select the very best English writing about the island we love, and bring that great writing to a broader audience.

We have a regular release schedule of new titles, aimed at building a catalogue of quality books for those fascinated by the island, its history, and its near neighbors.

Camphor Press also offers a fair deal for authors, by keeping our overheads low and providing a much larger slice of the cover price in royalties than traditional publishers. So, you can buy our books confident that you are supporting the writer.
