Canary Impact invests in justice-involved people through direct funding, fostering leadership, and encouraging agency. We believe that those closest to the challenges are also closest to the solutions. By investing in leaders with lived expertise, we help turn bold ideas into lasting systemic change.

Our programs support leaders at different stages of their journey:

• 10 for 10 – Our flagship national program provides a $10,000 investment, mentorship, and leadership support to justice-impacted leaders advancing innovative solutions that transform the criminal legal system.

• NextWave Leadership – A nine-month leadership development program for justice-impacted young adults (ages 18–25), offering funding, coaching, mentorship, and practical skill-building to help emerging leaders strengthen their leadership and expand their impact.

• NYC Future Forward – A leadership incubator for justice-impacted young people in New York City that combines $10,000 in project funding, mentorship, leadership development, and a supportive community to help participants launch and grow initiatives that strengthen their communities.

At Canary Impact, we don't just provide grants—we build long-term relationships. Every participant joins a growing national network of alumni, mentors, funders, and peers who continue to collaborate, support one another, and drive meaningful change long after the program ends.

Together, we're building a future where lived expertise is recognized as leadership and justice-impacted people have the opportunity to shape the systems that affect their lives.
