Steve Kahn has over 35 years of work experience in the field of civil engineering and public works. Steve has held various roles in different organizations, consistently showcasing their expertise and leadership skills.

Steve'smost recent position was as a Senior Principal Civil Engineer at Cannon, where they started in September 2019. Prior to this, they served as the Interim Public Works Director for the City of Guadalupe from January 2019 to August 2019.

From October 2014 to December 2018, Steve worked as the Director of Public Works for the City of Santa Maria, overseeing the administration and operation of various departments. Before that, they held the role of Utilities Engineer for the City of Santa Maria from September 2008 to September 2014.

From February 2000 to September 2008, Steve served as the Public Works Director for the City of Atascadero. In this role, they were responsible for managing all public works functions and departments.

Steve Kahn completed their education at California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo, where they obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Civil Engineering. Steve attended the university from 1979 to 1983. Prior to that, Steve attended Cabrillo Junior College from 1976 to 1979, earning an Associate of Arts and Sciences (AAS) degree in General Education. Additionally, they obtained two certifications: a Licensed Land Surveyor certificate from the California Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists in 1989, and a Registered Civil Engineer certificate from the same institution in 1986.
