Sara Meier's work experience includes various roles in the field of interior design and project management. Sara currently works at CannonDesign as a Project Manager and Senior Interior Designer. Prior to that, they worked at Perkins and Will as an Interior Project Designer. Sara also held positions at Solomon Cordwell Buenz and Childs/Dreyfus Group as a Senior Interior Designer. In the earlier years of their career, they worked as an Interior Designer at Uihlein Wilson Architects, Inc. and as a Design Intern at Building Service, Inc.
Sara Meier has a diverse education history. In 2005, they obtained a BA in Interior Design and Dance from Purdue University, where they studied for four years until 2009. During this time, they also took courses in Art History and Italian at the Accademia Italiana - Arte Moda & Design from an unspecified start year until 2007.
In 2020, Sara enrolled at the University of Cambridge and completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Interdisciplinary Design for the Built Environment, specializing in Sustainability Leadership. Sara completed this program in 2021.
In addition to their formal education, Sara has obtained several certifications. In 2008, they became a LEED AP, certified by the U.S. Green Building Council. In 2012, they obtained their NCIDQ certificate from the NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR INTERIOR DESIGN QUALIFICATION INC. Additional certifications include becoming a WELL AP from the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) in 2021, and being selected as a Best of NeoCon Juror in both 2022 and 2023 by NeoCon.
