Bruce Shepherd has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Bruce started their career as an English Teacher at Shengli Oilfield Teachers College in China from 2002 to 2003. Following this, they worked as a Summer Intern in corporate finance at National Australia Bank in 2005, where they gained experience in cashflow analysis and credit submission. In 2007, Bruce worked as a Temporary Research Analyst at ECA International, where they conducted research and analyzed data for location ranking.
From 2008 to 2009, Bruce worked as a Graduate Management Trainee and Assistant Credit Risk Underwriter at Euler Hermes. Bruce analyzed credit limit requests, assessed company accounts, and monitored risk exposure. Bruce also served as a Domestic Risk Contact for policyholders and contributed to new business and renewals. Bruce later worked at Aggreko as a Project Scheduler in 2008, where they were responsible for delivering temporary power supply to sites at the Beijing Olympics.
Bruce then joined Coface as a Credit Risk Underwriter from 2011 to 2012, where they analyzed credit limit requests, evaluated risk exposure levels, and conducted meetings to discuss credit risks and limits. Bruce gained experience in the food and UK retail sectors, conducting buyer visit meetings and producing visit reports. At Euler Hermes, Bruce worked again as a Credit Risk Underwriter from 2011 to 2012, focusing on the Food, Agriculture, and Chemical sector. Bruce assessed credit limit requests, evaluated financial strength, and conducted policyholder meetings.
In 2016, Bruce joined QBE North America as a Credit Analyst in Global Risk Management for a brief period. Bruce then transitioned to QBE European Operations, where they served as a Credit Risk Analyst in Surety-Global Risk Management from 2012 to 2017. Currently, Bruce is at Canopius Group, starting in 2017. Bruce began as a Credit and Political Risk Analyst and later assumed the role of Credit and Political Risk Underwriter in 2020.
Bruce Shepherd attended the University of Nottingham from 2003 to 2006, where they obtained a 2:1 BA (honors) degree in Industrial Economics with Insurance.
