Nick Whitear

Nick Whitear has over 30 years of work experience in various roles within the insurance and maritime industry. Nick is currently employed as a Marine War Risk Underwriter at Canopius Group, starting in April 2021. Prior to this, they worked as an Underwriter at UK War Risks Club from April 2014 to April 2021. From September 2009 to April 2014, Nick served as the Communications Director at UK P&I Club. Before that, they held the position of Regional Service Manager (South East Asia) at Spica Services Pte Ltd from May 1993 to May 1996. From October 1987 to April 1993, they worked as an Underwriter at TT Club. Nick's early career includes a role as a Marketing Executive at Cockett Marine Oil Ltd from September 1985 to September 1987.

Nick Whitear obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Economic History from the University of Liverpool, where they studied from 1980 to 1984. Nick then pursued a Master of Science degree in Maritime Studies at Liverpool John Moores University from 1984 to 1985.
