Trevor Oates

Trevor Oates is an experienced reinsurance professional presently serving as the Head of Reinsurance at Africa Specialty Risks since April 2025. Prior to this role, Trevor has been with Canopius since September 1999, where responsibilities include underwriting the Engineering Treaty Account and Property Treaty reinsurance. Previous positions include Senior Underwriter at Aon from 1992 to 1999, Associate Director at Mercantile and General Reinsurance Company from October 1987 to November 1992, and Deputy Underwriter in earlier roles. Trevor Oates earned a B.A. in Geography from the University of Leicester between 1984 and 1987.
