Canopy Management Group (formerly The Markens Group) is a community-centered Association Management Company (AMC) headquartered in Springfield, Massachusetts.

For nearly 40 years, we have partnered with trade associations, professional societies, nonprofits, and member-driven organizations to provide customized operational, strategic, financial, marketing, event, and leadership support.

Our work is built on this core belief: strong organizations create stronger industries, stronger leaders, and stronger communities.

We help organizations build the structure, stability, and operational capacity they need so their boards and volunteer leaders can focus on advancing their mission, serving their members, and creating meaningful impact.

Our approach is intentionally relationship-driven and personalized. We often describe it as "building the suit to fit the body." Every organization has unique goals, challenges, and communities to serve, and we build support structures designed around those realities.

As Canopy, we carry forward the relationship-first philosophy established by The Markens Group, with a future focused on collaboration, community, and growth.

Canopy is accredited by the AMC Institute, reflecting our commitment to the highest standards of association management and client service. We are also proud to be recognized as a Great Place to Work® for over ten years, reinforcing our belief that people do their best work when they feel supported, connected, and empowered to grow.

Rooted in Springfield and Western Massachusetts, we remain committed to investing in our local community while supporting organizations nationwide. Our headquarters serves as the home office for Canopy and eight additional associations and organizations, creating a hub for leadership, collaboration, strategic planning, and community-building in the heart of downtown Springfield.
