Neel Pawar

Neel Pawar has a diverse range of work experience in the field of machine learning and computer science. Neel is currently working as a Machine Learning Engineer Specialist at Canopy. Prior to this, Neel worked as a Research Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University's School of Computer Science, where they led multiple machine learning software projects and mentored other projects in ML software development. Neel also served as a Machine Learning Engineer Intern at Spotify, where they led a project on deep learning-based time-series analysis for Spotify Freemium users. Neel has also worked as a Machine Learning Engineer Intern - Computer Vision at Panoskin, where they developed XGBoost and RandomForest pipelines for probabilistic analysis of computer vision results. Neel has experience as a Machine Learning Instructor at Inspirit AI, where they led a team in developing a music recommender system using ML models. Neel has also worked as a Research Fellow at Carnegie Mellon University's College of Engineering, focusing on the design of custom Neural Networks for solving fluid flow equations. Neel has additional experience as a Research Student and Teaching Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University. Neel has also worked as a Machine Learning Instructor at Camp K12 and as a Design/Controls Software Engineer at PMV ELECTRIC, where they designed and deployed an electric vehicle cruise control system. Neel began their career as a Project Department Intern at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., where they worked on the prototype phase of a vehicle and gained experience across various departments. Neel's work experience showcases their expertise in machine learning, computer vision, deep learning, and software engineering.

Neel Pawar completed their Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering at Dwarkadas J. Sanghvi College of Engineering from 2014 to 2018. Neel then went on to pursue a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Research with a machine learning major and thesis at Carnegie Mellon University from 2021 to 2022.

In addition to their formal education, Neel Pawar has obtained several certifications. Neel completed a Machine Learning certification from Stanford University | Coursera in June 2020. In May 2020, they completed a Foundations of Robot Motion certification from Northwestern University | Coursera. In April 2020, they received a Python 3 Specialization certification, including a capstone project in OpenCV, from the University of Michigan | Coursera. In January 2020, they obtained a Control of Mobile Robots certification from the Georgia Institute of Technology | Coursera, and an Introduction to Self Driving Cars certification from the University of Toronto | Coursera. In December 2019, they completed an Applications of Machine Learning to Remote Sensing certification from the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), as well as an Electric Vehicles - Technology certification from Technische Universiteit Delft | edX. In March 2019, they obtained a Diploma in Product Design and Analysis from CADD Centre Training Services Pvt Ltd. In September 2017, they received an SAP Certified Application Associate - Materials Management certification from SAP India, and in March 2017, they completed a Manufacturing Excellence - industrial training module from Larsen & Toubro.
