Scott Hammer

Scott Hammer has extensive work experience in software engineering, coaching, and consulting. Scott is currently working as a Software Engineering Coach at The Hartford. Prior to that, they worked at Canton Coders as a Principal Associate Evangelist Fellow, where they were responsible for reducing cyclomatic complexity and improving code coverage. Scott has also worked as an Agile Technical Coach at Apex Systems and as the Director of Software Engineering at Powerley and Amerisure Insurance. Scott has a background in Agile practices and frameworks and has certifications as an Agile Coach, Scrum Master, and Product Owner. Scott has also worked at SolutionsIQ, an Accenture Company, as an Agile Technical Coach and at General Motors as an Engineering Group Manager. Before that, they established himself as an independent consultant at Hammer Consulting LLC, specializing in software architecture and Java enterprise architecture. Scott also worked at Oracle as a Consulting Solution Manager and at BEA Systems, Inc as a Managing Principal and Principal Consultant with expertise in enterprise portals, integration, database modeling, and content management.

Scott Hammer obtained their AS degree in General Studies from Clinton Community College from 1990 to 1993. Scott then pursued a BS degree in Computer Science from the University of Iowa from 1993 to 1995. Additionally, Scott has obtained various certifications such as AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in 2023, SAFe® 4 Program Consultant from Scaled Agile, Inc. in 2018, and multiple certifications from ICAgile and Scrum Alliance in 2017.
