James Yap is a Graphic Designer at Canva since July 2021, having previously served as an intern at the same company from January 2021 to April 2021. During the internship, James contributed to the Print Team by assisting with design research, creating high-quality print templates, and gathering usability feedback. Additional experience includes working as Non-Traditional Creatives Production Staff for the Company of Ateneo Dancers (2019-2021), and as Graphic Design Staffer for The GUIDON (2018-2021), where editorial illustration and layout were primary responsibilities. James also completed internships at Cocomilk Studio and And A Half Design Studio, focusing on various design projects, and held the position of Associate Vice President for Communications at the Ateneo Junior Marketing Association (2018-2020), leading a design team for branding and promotional efforts. James earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Information Design from Ateneo de Manila University in 2021.
