Jin Yu

Jin Yu is a highly experienced software engineer with a robust background in various prominent technology companies. At Canva, Jin has held multiple titles since January 2018, including Staff Software Engineer and Head of China Engineering, contributing significantly to launching canva.cn and overseeing engineering operations. Prior to Canva, Jin worked at Optiver, focusing on market connectivity and big data infrastructure for Asia-Pacific stock exchanges from May 2015 to January 2018. At VMware, from October 2012 to May 2015, Jin led a team to enhance the Windows client for VMware Horizon and optimized client-server communication significantly. Earlier experience includes architecture and development roles at Tencent, EMC, and IBM, as well as a foundational research role during education at Tsinghua University, where Jin developed a large-scale full-text search engine. Jin holds a Master's degree in Computer Science and Technology from Tsinghua University and a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
