Phillip Ward

Phillip Ward is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in privacy engineering and technology management. Currently, Phillip serves as a Senior Engineering Manager in Privacy Engineering at Canva and holds positions as an Advisory Board Member for the Privacy Engineering Section at IAPP and as Executive Director and Chief Technology Officer at STEMpals by Curiosity Factory. Previously, Phillip worked at NAB as Associate Director of Privacy Technology & AI Ethics, and during a substantial tenure at Monash University, contributed significantly to neuroimaging research as a Research Associate and Postdoctoral Research Fellow. Phillip's early career included roles at CSIRO and VPAC, focusing on advanced scientific computing and high-performance computing optimization. Academic credentials include a Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical Imaging from Monash University and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Bachelor of Science from La Trobe University, complemented by a diverse teaching background.
