Simon Hammond

Simon Hammond is a Localisation Tech Lead at Canva, where they oversee initiatives aimed at enhancing translation quality and improving the international user experience. With a strong background in computational linguistics, Simon has led teams focused on building the infrastructure for product localisation, benefiting users globally. Their previous experience includes managing computational linguists at Appen, where they developed tools and conducted training, as well as a role at Apple as a computational linguist. Simon earned a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics from the University of Sydney and a Master of Science in Speech and Language Technology from The University of Edinburgh.
