Thomas Rowntree is an experienced engineer and machine learning professional with a background in mechatronics, robotics, and automation engineering, holding a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Adelaide. Thomas began a career as an Engineer at the University of Adelaide and subsequently worked as a Systems Engineer at SAGE Automation, focusing on the design and commissioning of control systems. Following this, Thomas served as a Research Programmer at the Australian Centre for Robotic Vision, then transitioned to a Senior Research Engineer role at the Australian Institute for Machine Learning. From August 2022 to November 2024, Thomas was a Senior Machine Learning Developer at Rising Sun Pictures, and currently holds the position of Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Canva since December 2024.
