Tom Butler

Tom Butler is an accomplished Senior Engineering Manager at Canva, with extensive experience in cloud engineering and infrastructure. Prior to Canva, Tom served as Assistant Director at the Australian Bureau of Statistics, where responsibilities included cloud infrastructure engineering. At Geoscience Australia, Tom held the title of Assistant Director, developing a Kubernetes-based Platform-as-a-Service that handles millions of requests and terabytes of data, and architected cloud solutions for Digital Earth Australia and Digital Earth Africa. Tom also has a background as a Security Consultant at Cogito Group Pty Ltd, managing Oracle databases and applications for the Australian Defence Organisation. Tom holds a Bachelor of Software Engineering (Honours) from the University of Canberra.
