Alexander Schäfer has a diverse work experience in the field of data science and engineering. Alexander is currently working as a Senior Data Scientist at CAPE Analytics since July 2022. Prior to that, they served as a Senior Data Scientist at ipoque - a Rohde & Schwarz company from June 2020 to June 2022. Alexander also worked as a Lead Data Scientist at HERE Technologies from June 2018 to May 2020. Before transitioning into data science roles, Alexander worked at Project A Ventures as a Senior Data Engineer from August 2017 to May 2018 and as a Data Engineer from June 2016 to July 2017. Alexander also served as a Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore | Department of Computer and Electrical Engineering from July 2014 to June 2016. Alexander started their career as a PHD Student & Post Doc at the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences, where they worked from January 2010 to June 2014.
Alexander Schäfer began their education at Friedrich Schiller University Jena in 2003, where they pursued a degree in Computer Science and completed their Diplom in 2009. In 2010, they enrolled at Leipzig University to further their studies. Alexander obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Neuroscience from Leipzig University in 2014.
In addition to their formal education, Alexander Schäfer has also obtained several additional certifications. In 2015, they completed the course "Introduction to Big Data" from Coursera Course Certificates. In 2016, they completed the "Hadoop Platform and Application Framework" course, also from Coursera. In 2017, they obtained two certifications: "Data Manipulation at Scale: Systems and Algorithms" and "Neural Networks and Deep Learning," both from Coursera. Alexander'smost recent certification, obtained in October 2021, is the "Introduction to Python for Cybersecurity" course from Infosec.
