Michelle D. has a diverse work experience in the field of human resources. Michelle started their career as a Human Resources Officer at Illovo Sugar Ltd in 1995 and worked there until 1997. From 1998 to 2003, they served as a Human Resources Manager at Trencor Containers, where they established and managed the HR Department for a start-up manufacturing plant. Following that, they worked as a Human Resources Manager at Fair Acres Hotel from 2003 to 2009, where they managed HR operations and events planning. In 2009, Michelle joined OEM Consulting as a Talent Acquisition Consultant until 2011. Michelle then became a Human Resources Manager (Group) at HomeChoice from 2011 to 2013. Michelle's next role was as a Human Resources Manager at Capfin, where they oversaw and managed the People Support Services department for the Support & Contact Centre functional areas. Michelle held this position from 2013 to 2020. In 2020, Michelle took on the role of Chief People Officer at both Capfin and Pepkor Payments and Lending. Michelle is responsible for various HR functions, including employee engagement, change management, performance management, talent acquisition, and HR audit and compliance.

Michelle D. has a diverse education history. Michelle completed a Senior Management Development Programme at Stellenbosch Business School in 2017. Prior to that, they attended Cape Peninsula University of Technology, where they obtained a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) Degree in Human Resources Management and Services. Michelle also completed a National Higher Diploma in the same field at the same institution. In addition, Michelle holds a Diploma in Human Resources Management from Cape Peninsula University of Technology as well.

Aside from their formal education, Michelle has obtained several certifications. In 2020, they completed the Ascend Pepkor Leadership Programme at Henley Business School. In 2019, they acquired the ICAgile Certified Professional - Agile Talent certification from ICAgile. Michelle also completed the Optimizing the Employee Experience course offered by SABPP in the same year. Furthermore, in 2014, they obtained the ReMeasure certification from PwC.
