Nancy Appel

Nancy Appel is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in nonprofit management and development. Currently serving as Senior Counsel at CapDev since April 2024, Nancy previously held the role of Director of Development at Coastal Conservation League from July 2014 to April 2024. Prior to that, Nancy was the State Philanthropy Director at The Trust for Public Land from February 2011 to July 2014, and Executive Director of Development at Hazelden Foundation from September 2003 to July 2010. Nancy’s career began at Maryland Historical Society as Grants and Foundations Manager from July 2001 to September 2003. Educational qualifications include a Master of Public Administration in Nonprofit Management from the University of Baltimore and a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from the University of Minnesota - Duluth.
