Colin Shields

Colin Shields, PhD, is the Senior Director of Data Science at Capital One, where they lead collaborations to enhance business value through innovative data sourcing. Previously, Colin served as the Director of the Data Science and Predictive Analytics program at CNA Corporation, driving advanced research for the Navy and Department of Defense. Colin earned a PhD in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the University of Michigan, where they also completed multiple master's degrees and participated in a significant cross-university research program. Their early career included engineering internships at General Dynamics NASSCO and Hyundai Heavy Industries, focusing on vessel repairs and industrial ship design.
