Luke Reding

Luke Reding, PhD, is a data scientist with over ten years of model-based experience, specializing in machine learning and model risk management. They currently lead the Relief Loan Machine Learning Underwriting team at Upstart, focusing on enhancing underwriting models to improve access to affordable loans. Previously, Luke managed data science teams at Capital One and contributed to innovative projects that saved significant costs. Their academic background includes a PhD in integrative biology from The University of Texas at Austin, where they also held a position as a Graduate Student Researcher.
