Sam Sharpe

Sam Sharpe is a highly skilled machine learning engineer with extensive experience in data science. Currently, at Capital One since May 2020, Sam has held roles as Lead Machine Learning Engineer and Senior Machine Learning Engineer. Prior experience includes a Data Scientist position at MLB Advanced Media, where Sam developed innovative models for sports betting and pitch classification. At Booz Allen Hamilton, Sam advanced to Lead Data Scientist, overseeing projects that optimized immigration case management and public safety resource allocation. Sam's early career involved significant contributions to statistical modeling and research during internships at Mindshare, the National Institute of Standards and Technology, and the American Enterprise Institute. Academically, Sam earned a Master of Science in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Science in Operations Research from Columbia University, along with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Oberlin College.
