Vikas Kini

Vikas Kini is a Data Scientist at Capital One, specializing in Anti-Money Laundering Risk Management. They build machine learning models to quantify the risk of money laundering in financial transactions. Vikas grew up in Dubai and moved to Seattle, where they earned a BS in Physics and an MS in Information Management with a focus on Data Science from the University of Washington. Vikas has previously worked as a Data Scientist at Hach and founded Kini Computational Science, where they developed forecasting models and provided business insights. In their academic career, Vikas has engaged in various research projects, including work on algorithms for analyzing imaging data from the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope.
