Robert Suttis

Robert Suttis is an experienced engineering professional with a strong focus on renewable energy and mechanical engineering. Currently serving as the Director of US Renewables at Capital Power since March 2019, Robert oversees operations for a fleet of 200 wind turbines and 15 MW of solar power. Previously, Robert held the position of Director of Canadian Renewables, managing operations for 340 wind turbines and extensive solar projects in Canada. With experience as Manager of Mechanical and Civil Engineering, Robert directed a team responsible for capital projects across North America. Prior to joining Capital Power, Robert held various engineering roles at AltaSteel Ltd., progressing from Mechanical Engineering Co-Op Student to Superintendent of Mechanical Engineering, and has previously worked in co-op positions at West Fraser Timber Co. Ltd. and Ainsworth Lumber Co. Ltd. Robert holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alberta.
